Ize-Iyamu steals the show as Obaseki finally bows out of APC, opens campaign office without a party logo

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has officially blown the whistle to begin the EDO 2020 Guber polls. In an announcement earlier today INEC fixed September 19th as the date for the conduct of the Governorship election in the state.

The ruling party, APC has tentatively fixed the first week of April as the date for its party primaries. All gubernatorial aspirants of the party are already geared towards clinching the party ticket.

Close observations have clearly shown that Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu is currently the starboy and most likely set to clinch the APC ticket.
The state Governor, Godwin Obaseki on his own part has opened his campaign secretariat in the state. The secretariat is located at the former Prest casino and night club at airport road in Benin City. The governor whose attempt to broker a truce between himself and the APC party leaders met stiff resistance by party faithful loyal to the national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole.

His trip to Abuja to pacify the national secretariat of the party was unsuccessful as the NEC of the party refused to recognise him as a member of the party saying his suspension still stands.
In a fist of rage, Obaseki was alleged to return to Edo state with a clear mission to begin an onslaught on the APC.
It is alleged this was what prompted the untimely demolition of a popular hotel owned by Tony Kabaka an ally of the National Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomhole.

The hotel which was costed over 500 million naira was brought down to ground zero.
Presently the branding of Obaseki’s campaign vehicles does not have the APC logo as well.

Meanwhile, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu is currently the beautiful bride of the APC, since his return to the party the RCCG pastor has practically taken his consultations to all stakeholders of the party.

Different groups within the APC have thrown their support towards the APC gubernatorial hopeful.
